Matthew Barber

Here's a newer favorite artist from the great country of Canada, though he's been making albums since 2004. Matthew Barber brings the piano songs, the folk songs, a little bit of lighter alternative rock. He's an artist that goes with what he's feeling and doesn't care much for trends. He also likes to experiment with different sounds and song structures. Barber is really the closest thing we have to a modern day Billy Joel, but I hear Neil Young and Bob Dylan influences as well. He's got some great piano recipes that work well (and I want more to hear more of them) but he doesn't confine himself to just those types of songs and I have to respect that even if I don't always get what I want!
