Introduction to Wings of Steel

Metal lovers of Judas Priest, Queensryche, Maiden, and the like need to check out this band ASAP. Wings of Steel are a US/Europe collaboration-- the best of both worlds. These guys have a third release coming out soon. Their recent live album Live in France showcases just how great they really are in a live show. Parker's guitarwork is amazing and Leo's voice is magical.

The opening self-titled track from their EP is an anthem they'll be playing for years. It has the best of all those above mentioned bands: soaring vocals, whaling guitars, ripping bass, and thunderous drums. Yes, there's obvious 80s metal here and it's excellent, but they're young and evolving with various types of musical influences. It's going to be thrilling to see where they go.

Judging by their new single "Winds of Time" from their upcoming new album, they're going somewhere harder and faster first. But even right there in the middle of an epic ten minute hard and fast metal song, there's a sweet bridge into a melodic and classical solo. Wings of Steel give metalheads a reason to celebrate music in the 21st century. There is plenty of looking forward.
