Last month, I did a playlist titled Steve Perry's Journey, which was restricted to only Steve's songs in Journey. But his career has much more to it and he's still active with a gentler touch. I'd rather hear an older, wiser, gentler Steve Perry original voice than a cover of the original. Sorry. That's my take. Don't go on without a singer who is alive and try to be something you're not. It's fake. This guy's the real deal. His recent album has some touching soulful tracks., and check out that duet with Willie Nelson!
The playlist ends with a track from each of the seven Journey albums that best demonstrates his vocal talent, his genuine voice, as well as songwriting.
