Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney is obviously known mostly as one of the four Beatles. But his solo work supersedes the ten years of the Beatles by far. Fifty years of recording and tours; over 26 studio albums solo! What many don't realize is Sir Paul's work is just as creative. As a master songwriter and instrumentalist, his work is just as sharp as it was in the 60s. He may not be the talk of the town these days, but all that experience makes for music of greatness. We should be talking about his solo albums. His most recent McCartney III is a fabulous exploration of sound and topnotch demonstration of songwriting. This playlist starts with his most recent and goes back in time to the very beginning featuring all the songs where he sings lead; there are a number of other greats that he cowrote but didn't sing lead on and didn't make this list. I wanted this playlist to really be all about Paul and his voice.

Today's list is dedicated to Paul McCartney, the legendary member of The Beatles. This is over four hours of Paul's classics with his newest solo work all the way back to the early days of The Beatles. Instead of going though individual Wings albums, I just selected my favorites from the greatest hits collection. But later on in the year, I'll go through each album and pick a favorite.

Sir Paul's a great musician, songwriter, and vocalist. And he's been a great defender for animals through the years as an advocate of vegetarian planet based diets and a vegan lifestyle that avoids animal products like fur and leather. I admire this guy a lot.

Today June 18 is also his birthday!
