Here's a band that started with genuine punk on their first two albums; they were rough and tough, yet they morphed into gentler pop rock. And that's okay. They write great music and at the end of the day it's all about the song, not the trendy sound or look. They evolved and they're still at it doing what they love. You have to respect that.
This is also really a duo, not truly a band. John Rzeznik and Robby Takac both do lead vocals and I like them both. Most only know John's voice from the softer pop hits in the 90s, but Robby was lead on the first couple of albums and he's still at it with occasional tracks. I like their loyalty to each other. Loyalty and longevity should be the title of their next album.
I'll come back to this band for my narrowed favorites, as I'll do with most, but for now here's a 40+ song sampling from their catalogue.
